Regional's in this tiny town is a huge ordeal. We have 24 students competing in the Regional meet on April 19. In my event, looking classy is a definite MUST, because it is a speaking event and there are judges. They say they don't look at your personal image, but I personally think they do. If it were REALLY close between two students and they had nothing else to judge- it would matter whether you were wearing jeans and a t-shirt (not that any one would dare to do so) or you were wearing a women's skirt suit. My "Coach" - it's hard to call her a "Coach" because she is this sweet little librarian who doesn't exactly fit the mean Coach category- She prefers us to wear black because it is classy. At the district meet I wore a white and black button up shirt, black pencil skirt, nude hose, black pointed flats, and my mother's pearl set. In a couple of weeks at Regional's I will be wearing a black top with pearls and silver beads around the neck line, black and white stripped knee length skirt, nude hose, black pumps or black flats, and my mother's pearl set once again (I'm pretty sure it's good luck), BUT I will only be wearing what is listed above if the weather allows me because we all know that the weather around here is CRAZY. Last weekend was beautiful! I'm talking jeans shorts beautiful and then this week is snows. This weather is out of control.

Spring FEVER
Spring Trends Worth Trying:
Cropped Palazzo Pants
Tunics Over Pants
Short-Sleeved Sweatshirts
Wide Stripes (one of my FAVS)
Birkenstock-Style Sandals (I don't exactly think these are a fashion statement, but that's just me)
The Half-Tuck
Peplum (LOVE LOVE LOVE)
Drop Waist Bottoms
Board Straight hair
Metallic
Printed Shorts
Mirrored sunglasses
Colorful sneakers
Overalls (throwback! woooo!)
Ankle Boots (not sure about this one either)
Eighties Cramped hair
Maxi Dress (I love these- and think any size or height can pull them off)
Blazers
Polka Dots
Shorts Suit
Spring Cap
Blue Smokey Eye (I would be careful with this one, colorful eye shadow can SOMETIMES make the wrong impression)
Another Fashion choice that is very popular this spring is mixing and matching print.

Spring Break

Spring break 2013!
What will you be wearing over spring break? Swim Suits and Shorts or Ski Jackets and Gloves.
Spring break is coming at the perfect time this year! In the Texas Panhandle we have no idea about the weather. One day its 77 with wind and the next day is 53 with wind. Notice the wind : Texas Panhandle wind is blowing pretty much 6 out of the 7 days of the week. This Spring break HOPEFULLY I will be wearing shorts and short sleeve tops during my free time, but everyday day over spring break(except Sunday) I will sporting either softball work out gear OR my softball uniform.

Stacy London
Stacy London was born May 25, 1969. She was born and raised in New York. She is known worldwide as a stylist/fashion consultant, author, and magazine most known for her role as co-host on What Not to Wear. What Not to Wear is a American makeover show. The participants are nominated by friends, co-workers, or relatives and then they are flown to New York where the hosts on What not to Wear go through the participant's entire closet and throw away every single piece of clothing that is not "in-style" and for the most part that means that the participant's walk away with their clothes in the trash, but there is a catch: Each participant gets 5,000 to buy themselves a entire brand new wardrobe, but the new clothes have to pass Stacy and Clinton's inspection.
Stacy in well known for her grey streak in her hair, some people consider that her "signature look".

CHANEL
The Young life of CoCo Chansel.
We all know of the legendary fashion designer Coco Chanel, but most don't really know her background. (At least I didn't) Her full name is Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel. Chanel was born on August 19, 1884 in Saumur, France. Although Chanel was named after her father Albert Chanel, he and Chanel's mother were not bewed. She was the daughter of mother, Eugénie "Jeanne" Devolle, a laundrywoman. When her mother had first given birth to Chanel her name was legally registered Chansel. Chanel was 12 years old when her mother died of a horrible case of bronchitis at the young age of 31. Chanel was not an only child either, she had 4 other siblings. Chanel's father sent his 2 sons out to work as farm laborers and sent his 3 daughters to central France. When Chanel turned 18, she was too old to remain at Aubazine, the school her and her 2 sisters were attending while in France, she was sent to a boarding house for Catholic girls in Moulins.
Chanel had a very successful business making clothing, jewelry, make-up, and perfume.
Chanel did not grow up with an easy life, she had to work for what she had.
Chanel died on January 10,1971 at the age of 87 in her sleep.
